  • A New Dawn for Tourism: Kabul’s Cultural Sites Reopen to Visitors

Kabul, April 27, 2025
Despite ongoing challenges, Kabul’s ancient soul is being restored. Iconic landmarks like the Gardens of Babur — the burial place of the first Mughal Emperor — and the Afghanistan National Museum have reopened, offering insight into the country’s rich, diverse history.
The vibrant Chicken Street bazaar is once again alive with merchants selling handmade carpets, lapis lazuli jewelry, and traditional Afghan clothing.
Tour operators now offer guided cultural tours emphasizing safety, helping visitors experience the dynamic spirit of Kabul — a city where ancient history and modern hope coexist side by side.

Walking through the Gardens of Babur and seeing Kabul’s cultural sites slowly coming back to life was incredibly moving. Despite everything the city has been through, the spirit of the people and the beauty of the history still shine. Visiting Kabul reminded me that Afghanistan’s story is not only about struggle — it’s also about resilience, art, and hope. I felt honored to witness a city that refuses to lose its soul.
